Your approach to the job will be inspired by your authentic style and self - always ready with care and attention, an unusual twist, a recipe that only you could give. You’ll know exactly who needs what and when, you’ll remember their names and you’ll use your creativity to deliver a fantastic bar experience every time. 

In your role as Bartender, you’ll discuss and agree some key objectives with your line manager. These objectives are designed to support your department’s goals and priorities. You’ll also take responsibility for your own development, embracing training opportunities that we offer, while learning from any challenges and mistakes along the way. 
 
 
How you do it: 
  • You’ll be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of service at all times. 
  • You’ll make sure you and your team are always complying with our restaurant policies, brand standards and standards of performance, particularly the Bar’s floor’s policies. 
  • You’ll maintain a well-stocked bar, letting the right team members know when levels are low.
  • You’ll attend any meetings or training courses required by the Head of Department.
  • You’ll be welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
  • You’ll assist in planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
  • You’ll assist in selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
  • You’ll adher to all food safety and quality regulations.
  • You’ll handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
  • You’ll maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
  • You’ll assist developing new cocktail recipes.
 
What you bring:
  • You’re a stickler for hygiene and safety standards in beverage preparation, making sure everyone’s adhering to our guidelines and conducting regular inspections of our bar areas to make sure we’re up to code.
  • You’re a considerate and supportive team player, helping out wherever you’re needed.
  • You know how to care for furniture, fixtures and equipment within all areas and you report any malfunction for maintenance. 
  • You’re ready to pitch in and carry out any other duties and tasks assigned by the Head of Department depending on the needs of the restaurant. 
There’s a lot more to this job than we’ve given you here – don’t worry, we’ll fill you in on everything before you begin. We might also add other similar responsibilities on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the needs of art’otel.
