In your role as a Waiter/ Waitress, you’ll discuss and agree some key objectives with your line manager. These objectives are designed to support your department’s goals and priorities. You’ll also take responsibility for your own development, embracing training opportunities that we offer, while learning from any challenges and mistakes along the way.
How you do it: 
  • You’ll have a great understanding of our restaurant policies and standards of performance, following them at all times, especially those of the restaurant floor.
  • You’ll make sure we’re applying our brand standards at every shift. 
  • You’re responsible for managing your section to the highest standards, communicating where needed about lapses in quality.
  • You’re up to date and knowledgeable about all our food, drink and amenities.
  • You’re responsible for the correct handling and payment of guest’s bills according to our procedures. You’ll also be accountable for all personal cash floats, if any, and for all additional payments to such floats. You’ll complete all cash receipts and reconciliation after each meal period or day and you’ll report any cash discrepancy to management right away. 
  • You’ll schedule and allocate tasks efficiently to optimise productivity. 
  • You’ll take your cues from the guidance and instructions given by your leadership team. 
What you bring:
  • You’re all about teamwork, so you’ll be considerate and supportive of team members, helping to create a positive and collaborative work culture. 
  • You’re a stickler for keeping standards of cleanliness and presentation high, from your own personal presentation to those of your section.
There’s a lot more to this job than we’ve given you here – don’t worry, we’ll fill you in on everything before you begin. We might also add other similar responsibilities on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the needs of art’otel.
