“I’m really proud to work for a company that values me and has invested so much in my development.”

Can you please briefly describe what your role involves?

It’s a really diverse role. I oversee the daily operations of a busy restaurant and bar, hiring and training staff, coordinating employee schedules, managing budgets, developing menus as well as greeting and serving restaurant guests.

Why did you decide to join Chino Latino?

It was on the basis of a strong recommendation from my friend who was already employed by PPHE Hotel Group. She was really happy here, so I travelled to London and made an application via the website.

What was the experience of joining the company like?

It was a great experience; everyone was so friendly and I was really impressed with the training and development that was on offer to all employees.

Has the company lived up to your expectations since you joined? If so in what ways?

Definitely. I am really proud to work for a company that invests so heavily in training and developing me. It is a great company to work for.

What sort of skills and behaviours make for a great employee?

We can teach people skills, but for me, it’s the behaviours that are more important. Great behaviour means being positive, always having a can-do attitude, being friendly and really passionate about everything you do.

How would you describe your colleagues? What are they like to work with?

Everyone at Chino Latino is great! They are responsible, trustworthy and ethical, always polite and work with a smile on their faces.

How possible is career progression?

It’s all about attitude. If you want it and you work hard then it is very possible for anyone to grow and develop in the company.

What aspect of working here inspires you the most?

We go out of our way to make all our guests feel special and have a memorable experience, but for me, it’s my team that are really special. Being able to care, support and develop my team is something that really drives me every day.

Which three words would you use to describe the organisation?

Care. Support. Empowerment.

What would you say to someone thinking of coming to work at Chino Latino?

This is such a great place to work, that you’d be wasting your time looking at any other hotel or hospitality career – you really couldn’t choose better!
