“I love being able to express my creativity.”
Why did you want to join us?
I decided to join because of the passion I could see within the individuals who interviewed me and the staff working at the hotel. I knew that I would love working at Park Plaza London Waterloo after first visiting the property.
Has the company lived up to your expectations?
The company has definitely lived up to my expectations. I have learned a lot and have been promoted twice since starting my first role two years ago.
What’s involved in your role?
I assist in the marketing and PR tactics in the UK, as well as acting as a liaison between departments – I ensure we communicate ongoing strategies effectively via PR, marketing and advertising promotions. Any given day could involve design or PR agency liaison, media relations, filming requests and ensuring content and communications are up to date and accurate.
What are your colleagues like to work with?
I very much enjoy working with my team as they are really efficient and hardworking. And I really value the feedback they provide me when I share my ideas with them.
What aspect of working here do you most enjoy?
I love being able to express my creativity. My favourite part is brainstorming ideas with team members and seeing them come to life from start to finish. I also get to be a ‘creator’ when working on photoshoots. I am constantly thinking of new shots to promote offerings within the hotels.
What’s been your most memorable moment so far?
Probably, when I organised rooftop yoga events at Park Plaza London Waterloo. It was amazing to see how many people were there, and I felt proud to have organised something that people enjoyed so much.
How do you expect your career to grow?
Each hotel has different needs and priorities, so I am always working on something new. I feel this broadens my knowledge and continuously allows me to grow within my role. I envisage myself completing a management course so that I can develop further.
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?
I would say they should definitely take the role within the company. They certainly won’t regret it.
