Why did you decide to join PPHE Hotel Group?
I first joined five years ago and really enjoyed my two years working here. I then took a break before hearing about a traineeship that was on offer and deciding that I wanted to come back.

What does your role involve?
I am a waiter in Carstens. I make my guests happy, tell them about the Carstens story and serve some very nice wines!

What are your colleagues like to work with?
We’re like one big family. We work hard, but it’s with a smile on our faces, and we laugh a lot with each other.

What qualities do you need to succeed in one of our restaurant?
It’s essential to be a hard worker and a great team player.

What are the opportunities like for career progression?
Give all your energy, and show that you can do more, then there are always possibilities to grow.

How do you go out of your way to make guests feel valued?
By offering the best service possible, and recommending a glass of good Dutch wine and fantastic food – plus sharing the story of our concept. You can see from Tripadvisor that guests love their visit.
