Main role and objectives:
The Front Office takes care of the entire route from reception to check-out of (international) guests. The Front Office Trainee also helps in providing information and services. In addition, the Front Office Trainee performs additional activities such as processing messages and taking reservations. The reception activities will be carried out simultaneously with one or more colleagues.

Job role responsibilities:

  • Welcoming, informing and checking (domestic and foreign) guests by means of reservation lists; create and hand over key cards.
  • Adhering to wishes /special wishes of guests.
  • Informing the luggage attendant for accompanying guests to the room.
  • Welcoming of visitors and bringing them in contact with internal officials or hotel guests.
  • Monitor and signalling unsuitable / unwanted visitors and ensure that Security is informed.
  • Check-out of departing guests. Billing (usually updated at night) with final digestions, phone calls, etc. Checkout by cash or by credit card; If necessary, request credit limits. Administrating departure of guests. Archiving of guest notes / documents.
  • Processing of payments using (automated) cash system. If necessary, make payments by cash, also for external services for guests; debiting these charges on guest accounts. Transfer of cash at end of service and payment of received funds and credit card payments. Checking change of fee for commencement of service and end of service receipts.
  • Operating the telephone exchange; Accept and transfer calls with guests or internal business officials. Received and communicated by visitors and bringing them in touch with guests or company officials.
  • Sending messages (also for guests) by fax.
  • Sending of hotel documentation / information upon request.
