Technology Infrastructure & Support Manager

The Technology Infrastructure & Support Manager will provide leadership and monitor a team of contracted technology specialists. This position works in partnership with PPHE Hotel Group leaders to ensure the delivery of software and solutions is focused on maximising business strategic value. This highly visible position interfaces with all levels of the organisation.  

Main role and objectives:

This key role reports to the Vice President Technology & Business Solutions and will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance and connectivity of the Group’s core Technology infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the Group’s Technology assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimising all new and existing network hardware, software and communication links. This role is also responsible for telephone, data centre and security systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide input for design and implement short- and long term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Perform cost benefit and return of investment analysis for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

  • Work closely with a team of contracted technology specialists responsible for building, enhancing, integrating and supporting IT systems used across business units including, but not limited to, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Procurement, Commercial, Operations and Corporate Communications.

  • Leads compliance for the Group and takes appropriate action for variance from standards in a fair and equitable manner.

  • Comfortable leading incident management processes and/or serving as an Incident Commander for key issues.

  • Plan, acquire (in cooperation with the Group’s procurement team) and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the Group’s network.

  • Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.

  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print and back-up servers and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centres

  • Evaluates performance of vendors and systems and takes appropriate actions to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the Group’s executives, the team of contracted specialists, decision makers, stakeholders, head of departments and end users.

  • Maintains and prepares OPEX and CAPEX 

  • Evaluate new technologies for feasibility and implementation possibilities. Lead and direct the implementation of new systems, internal and external, processes and policies.

What we are looking for:

  • Fluency in English langaue verbal and written.
  • Multiple strategic cycles of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with managing priorities and investments.

  • Experience in interpreting the applicability of laws and regulations (including data privacy practices and laws) to company operations.

  • Experience in IT-audits.

  • Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualisation, Business continuity, Disaster Recovery. 

  • Experience in managing multi-disciplined and international (outsourced) IT teams.

  • Experience in managing teams responsible for ERP, Accounting, Payroll and Finance systems.

  • Strong analytical skills and thought processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science - or similar

  • CISA or  ITIL qualifications are desirable
