Job Summary:
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the housekeeping operations at Park Plaza Hotel Amsterdam Airport. This includes managing the external cleaning company, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in 342 guest rooms and public areas, and maintaining strong communication and coordination with other departments. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing superior guest service.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:
  • Oversee the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Manage the relationship with the external cleaning company, ensuring they meet the hotel's quality and service expectations.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, corridors, and all public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and efficient room turnover and maintenance.

Team Leadership:
  • Provide direction and support to the external cleaning company staff.
  • Develop and implement training programs to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional growth.


Quality Control:
  • Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure consistent service delivery.
  • Address and resolve any housekeeping-related guest complaints or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the external cleaning company, providing feedback and implementing improvements as needed.


Inventory and Supplies Management:
  • Manage the inventory of housekeeping supplies, linen and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Oversee the purchasing and procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality products.
  • Monitor and control housekeeping expenses, adhering to budget guidelines.


Health and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in all housekeeping operations.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols to protect staff and guests.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices related to housekeeping and cleaning.
