Main role and objectives:

As Junior Sous chef your main role will be to assist the Kitchen management in the supervision of kitchen production, and to participate in the food production.  Supervise to ensure the kitchen provides the highest food quality consistent with cost control and profitability margins; hence maximise guest satisfaction and food profitability. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Maintains food quality and presentation in each outlet & banqueting.
  • Assistance with development of new menus for A la carte restaurants, banqueting facilities, room service & special events.
  • In conjunction with the Executive chef, supervise kitchen & stewarding team members during food production & service.
  • Assures proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed
  • Assists Executive Chef in checking and ordering fresh products and dry storage items required by kitchen
  • Encourages increased communication between kitchen production and service staff

What we are looking for:

- Someone with experience as a Sous Chef in a hotel or restaurant kitchen

- Able to work in a busy environment during service periods

- An individual truly passionate about food with a proven track record of creating an inspirational dining experience

- Someone who is great at creating and maintaining positive and productive working relationships across the business, communicating effectively in a range of situations

- A Chef who is passionate about engaging, inspiring and taking ownership for the development of their team
