Description of the Company:

Main role and objectives:

Our Financial Controller plays a crucial role, working closely with the management team and the Regional Financial Controller impacting the strategic direction. You will need to be comfortable working with senior team members. You will have a great deal of visibility within the Group and this will provide ghhood career progressions for accountants who are looking for a commercial career path.

Job role responsibilities below:

  • Lead, manage and perform all accounting duties for effective and smooth running of the hotel’s finance department.
  • To establish, monitor and mitigate risk by ensuring a robust control environment in the hotel and personally carrying out checks and assessments with a view to enhance control.
  • Optimise Costs and Cash to improve margin and target GOP and deliver strong Working Capital management
  • Provide timely focused, innovative and value-adding management reporting and analysis to the hotel’s General Manager and Regional Financial Controller.
  • Provide effective management and leadership of the Finance team to achieve desired departmental results, whilst ensuring an inspiring and engaging departmental culture in line with company values

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in monthly management accounting of UK companies
  • Variance analysis and management reporting
  • Balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow management & VAT returns
  • Organisation / Planning skills and ability to prioritise appropriately
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership, management (upwards and downwards), coaching and training
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Analytical approach and creativity in problem resolution
  • Commercial acumen and industry knowledge and ability to drive change where necessary
  • Technical accounting knowledge and strong IT systems knowledge including financial systems
