The Finance Assistant is in charge of the day-to-day processing of all reconciliation in accordance with hotel accounting and financial controls, and within the policies and procedures as outlined in HO manual and corporate policies and guidelines, and the hotel’s business plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily revenue report to be completed before 9.45 am on a daily basis
  • Attend morning meeting and communicate back to account any important information
  • Reconcile the cash and cheques received by the front office and p.o.s. on daily basis.
  • Ensure any corrections are completed on Opera and Sun, as needed and not only on the excel sheet on a daily basis.
  • Banking money on daily basis.
  • Foreign exchange currency – to be given to the front office and to check on the Opera that the rates are correct.
  • Order all change for the front office according to their request and needs.
  • Check and pay the due back on daily basis.
  • Credit card reconciliation on daily basis. All corrections to be made on Opera and the Sun, as needed as well as on excelon a daily basis
  • Credit cards charge back to be rectified immediately if lost and to do corrections in Opera and Sun, as needed
  • To resolve all credit cards and other bank queries by the telephone.
  • Petty cash – The excel file has to be updated on daily basis.  Financial controller to post on a monthly basis
  • To check the Management consumption daily and ensure the Excel file is updated.  To be authorised by the General Manager.
  • Allowances and voids have to be checked on daily basis and to be authorised by the General Manager
  • All movie and telephone revenue must be checked, ensuring receipt of Quadriga invoices, and any necessary credit notes
  • Quadriga allowances have to be sent to Quadriga by the 2nd working day of the new month regarding the previous month allowances.
  • File all the above mentioned in the proper files.
  • Any other reasonable tasks requested by the Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller and General Manager.
