Main role and objectives:

In the role of breakfast associate display efficient and outstanding standards of breakfast service to all guests with passion and smile and to demonstrate a pro-active approach in carrying out day-to-day tasks as a team player with a flexible work attitude towards other outlets.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide a positive guest journey to a 4*+ standard to our internal and external customers
  • Understanding the importance of the role being the face of the hotel and in leaving last impressions on our guest’s mind.
  • Welcome and greet all guests in a friendly, professional and welcoming manner following the company standards.
  • To promptly handle customer queries and complaints in a professional manner and ensure that all details are communicated to the supervisor/manager immediately.
  • To promote a can do attitude towards guests and give full co-operation to any customer requiring assistance with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude and to anticipate customer’s needs whenever possible, to enhance quality service and in turn enhance client satisfaction.
  • Support and drive the improvement of the department scores related to Medallia and Tripadvisor feedbacks and to comply towards Brand audit action plan.
  • To give fast, efficient and polite service to the maximum of your ability
  • Interact with customers as much as possible, extract guest information, and report them on the guest information sheet
  • To carry out any other reasonable request as made by the senior management of the Park Plaza Hotel.
  • To carry out all duties assigned by the departmental Supervisor/Manager on duty.
  • To carry out all tasks in an organized and methodical manner.
  • Attain a high level of knowledge of your departmental products. Knowledge of food and beverage services offered.
  • To perform all tasks to a consistent and correct standard as per Standard Operational Procedures manual.
  • Be aware of any shortfalls in standards and bring them immediately to the attention of your supervisor or manager
  • Follow guidelines regarding the control of waste in your department. Maintain all breakages and report them on the record sheet.
  • To set up and prepare the restaurant as per the SOP.
  • Ensure any task list given is completed.
  • Ensure the opening and closing procedure of the department is carried out as per the checklist.
  • Check the events happening in your department on a daily basis – plan ahead to assist the next shift.
  • Be able to operate the Micros system.
  • Always ensure all items are put through Micros system to the correct table or bill at all times.
  • Always ensure the supervisor is aware of any problems with the billing procedure.
  • Always ensure everyone has paid their bill before leaving the restaurant and the correct cashing-up procedures have been followed as per the scope of interaction.
  • To ensure requisitions are received, checked and stored away in the correct location.
  • To ensure the supervisor on duty is aware of any shortfalls in deliveries of stock to the restaurant.
  • Be aware of all packages, rate codes, promotions in order to charge correctly
  • Be aware of security and lost property procedures and report anything suspicious to management. 
  • Know how to use all equipment and systems in your department.
  • To fully understand all liquor licensing laws and legal operating hours.
  • To ensure full compliance with licensing regulations including Weights and Measures within the restaurant.
  • Ensure that personal hygiene and grooming standards are met at all times.
  • Clean as you go, ensuring both public and staff areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of food handling, Health and Safety and hygiene procedures.
  • To adhere to health and safety policies
  • To adhere to all security procedures.
  • To ensure that you have a full working knowledge of the company as specified in staff and reception manual, to include order of service.
  • To carry out any duty reasonably requested by the management and to be flexible in assisting around the hotel in response to business needs.
  • To adhere to hotel and company rules at all times.
  • To demonstrate a pride in the work place and a high level of commitment.
  • Understand the aims of the hotel and your department.
  • To have a basic knowledge of all F&B outlets and facilities of the hotel.
  • Put forward ideas for improving the department or the hotel.
  • Be prepared to assist in other departments and carry out any duty reasonably requested by the management and to be flexible in assisting around the Park Plaza hotel in response to business needs.
  • To treat all guests and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all times and to give full co-operation to any guest or colleague requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner.
  • Attend team and company meetings, contribute to them and be an active part of staff training and development as required by the hotel and your manager.
  • To report to work as schedule on the rota
  • Comply with the rota system to departmental standards.
  • To be flexible and adaptable to business need.
  • Be aware of sickness absence and lateness policy and duly follow it.
  • Holidays request will be accepted according to business/staff level
