Main role and objectives:

As our Back of House Coordinator for the Meeting & Events department at the Park Plaza Victoria London, this position assists the floor supervisors in the delivery of service standards to the guests. Main responsibilities include looking after operating equipment, ordering dry goods and beverage, looking after linen and keeping storages and back of house areas in order. Our Back of House Coordinator needs to be organized, accurate and punctual to deliver a consistent high quality service. This position must always remain flexible regarding working hours and shift patterns, which may differ in times of high occupancy.


Your responsibilities:


  • To set up Meeting & Event suites in accordance with hotel function requirements and guests requests prior to the function, ensuring the standards are maintained throughout, Including the preparation of cutlery, china and glasses for up-coming events
  • Assist M&E Operations Manager and Team Leaders in equipment handling, storage procedures. Control breakages, report faulty equipment.
  • To service and breakdown Meeting & Events rooms as directed. To ensure that all lights in the conference suites are switched off until such time as the organiser is about to arrive
  • Liaise closely with the Head Chef and Event Manager with regards to menu’s, signage and place cards for each event
  • To ensure that all tasks relating to guest comfort, guest satisfaction or the impression the guest receives of the hotel must be treated with utmost priority
  • Establish a good rapport with clients, maintaining positive relationships with delegates and third party suppliers
  • Upon receiving weekly BEO’s, ensuring that all details are read through and requisitions for following week are completed. With queries/questions being raised with the event’s office
  • Liaise closely with the Event Manager with regards to styles of service and catering numbers, before each event


What we are looking for:

  • A Meeting & Events professional possessing operational knowledge of quality Meeting & Events services, to ensure you are able to lead by example
  • Someone who is passionate about exceeding guest expectations
  • Someone who is great at creating and maintaining positive and productive working relationships across the business, communicating effectively in a range of situations
  • A positive and energetic person who easily connects with other persons and can live up to our mission statement: Inspiring our guests through individuality and passion! 
  • A leader who is passionate about engaging, inspiring and developing their team
  • Someone with previous supervisory experience within Food & Beverage outlets within a hotel, preferably Meeting and Events
  • Previous experience with Micros is preferred
