Park Plaza London Waterloo is in its second year of opening, its is an exciting opputtunity for those wishing to take the next step in thier financial careers.

The purpose of the Assisrant Financial Controller is to work along side the Financial Controller and take the lead role in the management of the hotel’s finance. You will be working closely with the hotel’s management team to drive performance and ensure a rigorous financial control & reporting environment.

Job role responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and perform all accounting duties for effective and smooth running of the hotel’s finance department. 
  • The development and coaching of the hotel finance team
  • Optimise Costs and Cash to improve margin and deliver strong Working Capital management
  • Provide timely, focussed, innovative and value-adding management reporting
  • Continually look to identify best practice and opportunities to improve process & performance.
  • To establish, monitor and mitigate risk by ensuring a robust control environment

We are looking for:

Experience in monthly management and financial accounting of UK companies

  • Variance analysis and management reporting
  • Balance sheet, profit & loss, cash flow management & VAT returns
  • Professional qualification is desirable
  • Rigorous commitment to accuracy and detail
  • Leadership, management (upwards and downwards), coaching and training
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Analytical approach and creativity in problem resolution
  • Commercial acumen, industry knowledge and the ability to drive change where necessary
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • MS Excel skills
  • IT System knowledge – SUN, Opera, SAP & Micros would be beneficial
  • Ability to deliver responsibilities with minimum supervision
