Our Learning & Development offering
When you join PPHE Hotel Group, we will support you with an outstanding learning and development induction programme, to help you acquire and develop the skills you need, and to guide you with a career path that is right for you; one that will help you to realise your full potential. We understand that effective training and development are central to the success of any business, so we continually review and improve the learning and development we offer our team members. Our ‘you:niversity’ houses all the development we offer from induction training to management training and beyond.
We strive to ensure that we not only equip you with the right skills for today, but also identify and develop the skills you’ll need in the future.
Our learning and development tools combine on-the-job experience with off-the-job theory, and everything is tailored to all levels of the business and all levels of experience. As a team member you’ll receive at least two structured Performance and Development reviews every year to discuss how you are performing and identify any training requirements. Throughout your journey with PPHE Hotel Group, we’re here to listen and support – we invite feedback and welcome suggestions as to how we can improve, because we’re a team.
Learning and development at PPHE Hotel Group includes a suite of programmes specifically designed for our new team members from the moment they join us to help us all achieve our growth potential.
Our ‘Feeling Welcome Induction Programme’ enables our new recruits to start as they mean to go on. Our award-winning ‘Inspirational Service Programme’ focuses on a cornerstone of our business – guest service – through thought-provoking sessions on how to deliver the very best customer service. We identify and promote talent, and to this end a small number of high-performing managers are selected each year to take part in our ‘Foundation in Management Programme’. And our tiered ‘Revenue Training Academy’ provides tuition on the fundamentals of revenue management for team members employed in this area.
In terms of ongoing development, we place our team members on our internal Talent Bank before having a personal development meeting and mapping out a tailored Personal Development Plan (PDP). We then record your progress against your PDP by compiling a learning log and we assign you a mentor to help support and guide you. We review your PDP and progress together every three months, or more frequently if appropriate.
Ultimately, we understand that we will only realise our potential if you fulfil yours, and we are therefore here to support you every step of the way.
