Main role and objectives:

As Meetings & Events Sales Coordinator you will have a key position in the booking experience of our Events clients. You will support our guests through the booking and contract process and ensure they receive a high quality, personalised service.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manage and build relationships with Meeting & Events accounts (corporate, leisure and agency) and update all documentation to reflect this
  • Co-ordinate all Meeting & Events elements of the hotel Sales department
  • Organise and manage all aspects of the event prior to arrival
  • Ensure all enquiries are dealt with promptly, in line with company standards
  • Manage Christmas bookings and proactively sell to potential clients (including promotional activity)
  • Liaise with Revenue Management Team to ensure profit maximisation
  • Drive and manage the conversion of customer enquiries into confirmed sales to develop future and repeat business contributing to the profitability of the hotel
  • Deal with guest queries and complaints efficiently and politely and immediately report any such matters to the your Line Manager to follow up
  • Be fully aware of current liquor licensing laws
  • Ensure on all occasions that safe and hygienic working practices are observed in order to satisfy Health & Safety at Work, Food Hygiene and other statutory legislation

What we are looking for:

  • The ideal candidate as a Meeting and Events Sales Coordinator will have a minimum of 2 year’s experience gained within Meeting and Events Department managing bookings and enquiries or a similar role and should ideally have worked in a similar 4 or 5 star hotel.
  • The role requires the ability to deliver flexible solutions and work with a significant number of stakeholders to deliver the events to the standard required. Also have excellent numeracy and financial management skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • You will be fluent in English, hard working, organized, a team player, have excellent communication skills, be motivated and professional in appearance and presentation.
  • It is essential that you are computer literate with good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working with Opera, Sales & Catering function, would be preferable
