Main role and objectives:

To provide efficient and outstanding standards of service to all customers at all the time. 

To demonstrate a pro-active approach in carrying out day-to-day duties and problem-solving.  To ensure that profits within the bars is maximised and that the Primo Bar remain a first choice destination.

If customers are satisfied and happy they will return and we will become successful and profitable and this in turn will reflect on your own rewards both professionally and financially.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • To consider the satisfaction of all customers by ensuring prompt, courteous and efficient service at all times
  • To report at work on time, full alert, with the appropriate grooming standard as set from the company, remember that you work with other people so please take a shower before you start your shift and use deodorant.
  • To build and maintain effective open communication and good relations with other staff members.
  • To carry out all duties assigned by the Bar Manager or Bar DM.
  • To ensure that a full and accurate handover occurs between shifts including details such as: outstanding customer bills; customer complaints; unfinished wine; etc.
  • To set up and prepare the bar as required by the Bar Manager

    (see opening procedures).

  • To maintain a flexible approach to duties and working hours.  To identify situations where providing assistance to colleagues would ensure that the team operates most effectively as a whole.
  • To give fast, efficient and polite service to the maximum of your ability.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of the cocktails available.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of all products within the bar.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of the wine list.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of the Ichi and Bar food menu and be able to describe all dishes on the menu to customers if asked.
  • To promptly handle customer queries and complaints in a professional manner and ensure that all details are communicated to the Bars Manager or Bar DM immediately.
  • To recognise and acknowledge customers within Park Plaza and none. Customers like to see the same happy and efficient staff and be recognised themselves.
  • To ensure that a base of regular customers is rapidly recognized and maintained by personal contact and recognition.
  • Always ensure all items are input through Micros system to the correct table or bill at all times.
  • Always ensure the Bar Duty manager is aware of any problems with the billing procedure.
  • Always ensure the Bar Duty manager is aware of any complaints or problems no matter how trivial it may seem to you.
  • Always ensure everyone has paid their bill before leaving the Bar and the correct cashing-up procedures have been followed.
  • Please make sure all equipment, cutlery, crockery, glassware, linen etc. is properly looked after and is clean, tidy and in tip top condition.
  • To Stay abreast of market trends and customer expectations.
  • To take full responsibility for balancing allocated cash floats at the close of each shift.
  • To ensure that you always have the correct change in the tills and all the stationary required.
  • Please be aware of all security rules and regulations, not only within your   own area but in Park Plaza as a whole.
  • To maintain a thorough working knowledge and understanding of all items stocked in the bar and listed on the bar lists, and provide this information to customers where necessary.
  • To set up, prepare and break down the bar as required by the Bar Manager.
  • To ensure that all company property is properly looked after and kept to the required level of cleanliness and hygiene. 
  • To inform the Bar Manager or Bar DM of equipment and stock levels on a regular basis.
  • To report on the performance of the Mycros system to the Bar Manager or Bar DM.
  • To maintain the highest standards of hygiene and safety in the Bar, ensuring that cleaning schedules are adhered to.
  • To help cleaning the glasses every time that is going to be required.
  • 1. To carry out all tasks in an organised and methodical manner
  • 2. To ensure Requisitions to the Bar are ordered at the correct par levels as specified.
  • 3. To ensure Requisitions are received, checked and stored away in the correct location.
  • 4. To ensure the Bar Manager or Supervisor on duty is aware of any shortfalls in deliveries of stock to the Bar.
  • 5. To ensure the Bar is adequately stocked throughout service.
  • To ensure full compliance with licensing regulations including Weights and Measures within the bars.
  • To fully understand all liquor licensing laws and legal operating hours.
  • To adhere to all security procedures.
  • To have a thorough working knowledge of food handling, Health and Safety and hygiene procedures.
  • To establish good working relationships with all other members of staff including all the others department in whole Park Plaza.
  • To carry out any other duties as may be required by the Bar Manager or Bar DM.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request as made by the senior management of the Park Plaza Hotel.
  • To be flexi able and adaptable to business need.
